Shackle to Gas Line Interference

I have searched and found several folks talking about the problem but have not seen too many solutions on how to re-route the gas fill line after putting in the 2 inch drop shackle on a 77 2WD Blazer. I put in new springs along with the drop and the shackle is dead center on the fill line (removed right now)... I have not looked at what changes to make yet to make this work but thought I would check with the Brain Trust here on the Forum. Rotate the gas neck 30 degrees? Just looking for ideas.

Thanks and have a great 2011!!

Roger

I couldn't find the original thread but I'm pretty sure BRUISER had a muffler shop make a bent piece that would route the neck past the shackle. I've also heard you can loosen the flexible part and twist it so it just clears.

Thank you for the response... gives me some ideas. I will look it over more the next time I crawl under the truck. Never as easy as you think/hope. I have been doing this enough years to know better but I am an optimist and always hoping for the easy solution

Re: Shackle to Gas Line Interference

I had a friend reroute the filler neck. He worked in a muffler shop back when he was a young buck, but that was a long time ago. Still, he worked and welded sections until it all cleared and was leak-proof.

Bruiser, thanks for jumping in. I had searched for that thread and found my google skills were lacking.
