Re: 1976 chevy short box
well i did alot today and i dont think im done. i took both back breaks apart 1 was seezed up and we broke a bunch of stuff ripping it off, the other one slid off but the pisten was blown up and both back breaks dident work, i got all the parts cleaned up all grinded down, were going to gett all the parts i need and s spring kit for it today t lordco, and i took all the break lines off and im reaplacing them, and i grinded down the frame and found more cracks. were it craked it liiks like a spider web it wount be much to clean up.
some of the pics r pointless ther just showing me how to pt them back together and i asked my dad why its all cracked and i found out why, he said its from jumping it, the truck use to be his beating truck. lol with the pics the broken one the sreering box came off for welding all the cracks getting all cleaned up more cracks the motor mount crack, the old owner tried welding ut up but never workd and i worked on this today to. its m dads 1956 chevy bomont rag top. we put in all the front a arms in and brand new shocks |

Re: 1976 chevy short box
Jealous of your "Cab Hoist!"
Looks like POR 15 on the frame? Are you wire wheeling it prior to application? |

Re: 1976 chevy short box
yes and yes, i take the wire wheel to the chassis just to take off the bulk of it then paint. i wish i spent more time doing it because it looks kind of scabby now. 1 tip to it. don't leave it in the sun. i don't know why but the por 15 fades when its in the sun. the back half of the chassis is all faded so i got to re paint it from sitting in the sun.

Re: 1976 chevy short box
Update.… The last few days I have been re doing the dash cluster\wiring mess. It looked like a rats nest when I got it. I tore it all out and put all new stuff in witch now it all works. And I got a loggers box. I was going to go with something else but i'm getting it quite cheap, should have that soon. I will get pictures later
