My 61 GMC
Here is my 61 cmc when I picked it up couldn't get it running had to "run an IV of gas " to get it up on the trailer..Go tit for 100 bucks can't complain ..has the orginal 305 v6 4 speed...The only thing is on back of cab Po cut the lip off and bent it down , must of had a camper shell or something.I got a donor cab and cut the roof off, but now don/t know how to go about it............

Re: My 61 GMC
imo, the easiest would probably be to just replace the whole roof with the new one you have.
if you don't like that idea, replace the skin, and when that is off, try and fix the back panel, or replace that part too..(this method would probably be more work.)

Re: My 61 GMC
looks like you got a 64-66 roof so an entire roof swap is not gonna work, I would inspect the roof that is on the truck and see if there are any surprises before cutting anything, then decide...trust me...I did the roof think on my 62 check my build thread, great looking truck other than that...lots of potential, oh and welcome from the SF Bay Area !!

Re: My 61 GMC
The roof came off a 62 I cut it a little short..It had a wraparound window...I think its going to be a P.I.T.A.........I got the cab for free it was all rusted on the bottom..I was going to switch cabs, but too much rust........

Re: My 61 GMC
I have seen alot over the years, I restored British cars so I know about rust...but these early knee knocker cabs are the worst, I replaced so much metal in my cab I can't even remember whats not been replaced, If the front of the roof is solid I would just section the rear roof panels in from the other roof, stagger the cuts , replace the lower section of the rear visor and then section the new skin section on after, don't get overwhelmed...it gets more clear after you make a few cuts, if you are unsure just walk away and think about the problem....there is an easy solution to every problem..and hell its just metal...if you cut it wrong...weld it up and try again !!
