which tank should i get?

I have a 72 blazer. I need a new tank anyways. I want something thinner than the factory tank. I see the 73+ blazer tanks fit with a little modification. I am unsure about a 25 gal or 31 gal. Is there a specific year that will be baffled and have an in-tank pump that will give the correct PSI?

You would need to look at the 87 to 91 blazer tanks for EFI pump, but IDK if it would supply the 58PSI for the motor or if you would need to change the pump out.

Re: which tank should i get?

Is there a pump that fits this tank and would give the proper PSI?

Re: which tank should i get?

TBI pumps are made to run 9-13 psi. Tuned port injection requires the higher pressure you need. Sometimes a TPI pump can be made to fit in a TBI sender. Look at 85-92 camaro pumps. If you get into LT1 and LS1 applications they use a composite pump that is is a different design and less adaptable unless you want to do more modification to the tank.

Re: which tank should i get?

I used a 87+ tbi 25gallon tank in my 71 Blazer with 4" spring lift. It sits just behind/above the differential. I moved the rearmost cross member back to the end of the frame rails. The aftermarket tanks have a "baffle"...but it is just a really shallow reservoir. The OEM tanks have the full baffling...unless I just bought the wrong brand.

The fuel pump is another story. You'll have to get an intank fuel pump rated for the LSx motor. It should fit in the stock position/tank. I THINK I used an ACDELCO EP381 with a corvette regulator/filter WIX 33737.
