i have a 1965 SBW longbed pickup i was wondering on what to do with it i wanted to put some 22'' wheel and stuff but i aslo enjoy going 4x4 on my 86 toyota p/u and always liked mudding how much can u spend in $ and everthing to make this 65 a 4 wheeler

The GMC already has leaf spring in the rear, GM simply put a 4 inch block in the rear for a 4x4. 65 had a divorce transfer case but you can use one from a later 4x4 that has a trans and case combo. You have to change some cross members and relocate the e brake and add front spring hangers and perches.

are there lift kits that u can buy anywhere for my 65 gmc i know from 73-87 chevy trucks suspension bolts and fits just fine can i just look for a kit in that year range or no what are the ups and down?

no the front are coil spring and rear are leaf im also bout to be done rebuilding a front suspension i got from a 75 chevy c10 i really want to lift this thing but my problems are never delt with sumthin like this and dot know what ill be dealling with

Nope on the lift kit. If you want a leaf spring lift you would have use one from a kit that is offered and make it work by relocating frame mounts or you can go to a spring shop and have a set made.

ive seen some trucks today from 73 and up that seemed to be lifted with leaf springs and also looked like a rear end there were like 4 of them in that same way is this possible to interchange it to my gmc

I spent $500.00 on a doner blazer that had everything I needed for the swap to a 69. I quit counting reciepts when I could not put the lid on the shoebox anymore. So it could cost $500 or could run you broke, like me.

Get a mid 80's 4x4 for a doner, and go from there.
