noises while driving

I know this is the worst way to diagnose these kinds of things... but I figured I'd throw it out there.

I have a whirring "wow-wow-wow" noise that comes at driving at highway speeds. Its not consistant with engine RPM. And it changes depending on the gear (I THINK i have a TH350).

Also, at idle, it sounds like something is shaking and hitting the trans tunnel. Maybe unbalanced driveshaft?

In the next 2 weeks I will be completely rebuilding the suspension. Mild drop, all new bushings, alignment, possibly new tires, bearings, trying to make sure all moving parts are up to snuff seeing as how this is my daily for now.

Thanks for the input.
