anyone know what the curb weight is for a 66 LWB 250 3spd?

Does anyone know what the curb weight for a 66 LWB stepside with a 250 and 3 spd is?

I'm trying to think ahead and plan for the eventuality that my truck will be trailered back to PA from NC to be finished. I need to figure out if my folks truck will have the ability to do the job or if they'll need to borrow my buddy's truck to get mine.

...though of course if the truck is sound and roadworthy at that point I don't see why I couldn't drive it back to PA. I drove it 130mi the day I bought it back home.

I weighed my truck '66 C20 lwb with a 350 the last time I hauled some gravel, and it weighed in at 4140 lb. That is assuming the scale was correct. Hope this helps.

actually that does. My truck shouldn't be to far off from that then.

Looks like having my folks tow my truck is out of the question. The truck alone is 2/3rds their max towing capacity without a trailer

buy a cheap harbor freight tow bar, they will not have any weight on the tow vehicle but it will be harder to stop. Kieth

What type of tow vehicle do your folks have? I tow my 69 Chevelle, and occasionally my 64 C10 short bed, with a 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. The manufacturer's listed towing capacity on this truck is 5300 pounds. I have an 18' open trailer that weighs 1700 pounds.

With the Chevelle, which scaled 3600 pounds with no driver in the seat on dragstrip scales, I'm right at the maximum. I've never scaled the C10, but it's probably a few pounds heavier. In any case, I've towed both vehicles long distances many times without drama.

I do have a weight distributing hitch and electric brakes on both axles of my trailer. Hope this helps.

They have a 2011 nissan frontier crew cab pro 4x. Max tow is 6100 lbs if I remember correctly.

The only minor problem is my folks don't have a trailer so they'd have to rent one from u-haul. I could buy one, but they have no place to keep it nor do I.
