Re: Body lift?
It would be cheaper and easier to replace the floor board tranny cover with one from a 4x4. The 4x4's have a taller cover than the 2x's.
If you put a body lift on, it will change the geometry of the steering column, clutch rod ( if you have a manual trans ), radiater hoses, and it makes the truck a hair bit more top heavy. john

Re: Body lift?
thanks a lot for the quick reply. its a automatic and i was only going to do a 3 inch so i don't need to do the longer steering rod. but im going to do the body lift and a new trans tunnle so i know it will all fit. its always cool to have your truck a little taler lol. its a road truck anyways.

Re: Body lift?
I could be mistaken, but a 3 inch body lift will need to have the steering modified. I had a friend that did a home made body lift and he had to modify the steering rod. He also had to find another lower radiator hose ( the original rubs on the frame anyway ).

Re: Body lift?
my truck has a 3" body, and the steering is fine. never extended. on the lower rad hose, i can't tell if its been replaced, but it does not rub.

Re: Body lift?
I put a 3" body lift on a previous truck. There are some plastic plugs on the steering shaft you have to drill out and the shift linkage has to be extended. Buy a proper lift for your truck and it will come with very clear instructions. When you mark the tranny linkage, scribe it. I marked mine with a sharpie and it burnt off when I cut it. The kit will come with the peice needed to extend the linkage and it has to be welded.
