Post question on parts prices

hey i am currently restoring a wrecked 87 gmc pickup and i need to know how much i should expect to pay at a junkyard for the following parts: steering rod that connects to the sector, a set of hood hinges, and the cross member that connects the two main beams of the chasis located beneath and in front of the engine. i thought it would be best to ask since i am young and people tend to try and take advantage of younger people cause they dont expect them to know how much the parts are worth. thanks

No tellin, some yards will sell you stuff way cheap, and others will start off by sayig"that part lists new for $XX.XX, so I'll sell it too you 5 bucks cheaper."

It's best to know how much the parts cost before you go. I can get the parts fairly priced from one local boneyard because I'm a regular customer. Just keep going back to the same boneyard and prices get better. They need repeat business. Start by getting some free catalogues from these websites. www.lmctruck.com www.cheyennepickup.com www.yearone.com www.jcwhitney.com www.summitracing.com and www.jegs.com

I have a steering rod laying here already off $10 plus cheap S&H. the FRAME X-member is a yard piece, that will NOT be on ebay. I just got rid of some hinges but may have another set . DAVE all4trux@snip.net
