Gas gauge not working??
I just put the bed on my truck after a complete make-over this winter and just noticed that the gas needle goes way past full. Did i miss a wire or have a bad ground?
I havent driven the truck since last fall and the the truck is new to me ( bought it tore it apart and cleaned it up over the winter and ready to put on the road)so I dont remember if it worked or not before I tore the truck apart.. Oh yea its a 84 with 305/350 2wheel drive. ------------------

I had the same problem with my '74 K/20. I bought it and had to put a new tank in it. I replaced the ground wire after I got it back on the road and the guage is now working again. Check you power wire too! That could be rubbing on the crossmember or have a bare spot, most likely the ground though. Hope this helps.

go with mjn, i had that problem twice.once when i had some one put a new flexplate in and they smash the power wire with the crossmember bolts, and twice when i drop the tank, put it back in and didn't have a good ground.
