My 67 C10

I am new to this site, but I like what I see- this is my project, a 67 C10 that I picked up for 1500. The engine is completely rebuilt with a new cam, pistons, crank, gear drive, ect. So my main concern is my interior and well...everything except the engine. So far, I've relocated the gas tank to the rear, replaced the shocks, fixed the front turn signals, and now Im working on the rear brakes before I put the bed back on. I've also gone to a electric fuel pump (we'll see how that works out). More pics to follow...

Re: My 67 C10

So. Does anyone have some experience with brakes i.e. is just redoing the system with front discs and proportioning valve enough? or does a booster make that much of a difference? And can I even run a booster with the limited vacuum I have running a gear drive?

Re: My 67 C10

All of the above- restore and modify to make it go fast and drive well, and then get it on the road. Eventually, a daily driver.

Here are some more pics of my project, including the horrible state of the cab (I'll be shopping for a new one shortly)

Re: My 67 C10

good thing you're in cali...can probably find another complete truck (LWB) with an excellent cab (for less than a decent cab costs here or in the midwest, NE....) that you could part out and recoup your investment...

really depends on your geography. One needing rockers and cab corners and maybe some small amount of floor work is decent/good for this area. Especially if the cab mounts are good. One in that shape can run 300-600. A rust free cab can easily fetch anywhere from 1000-1500....

Re: My 67 C10

well then a rust free factory ac cab for about 700 is a good buy not that I need one but I know 454stepside has one for about that much. I think it is a great cab and he was going to post it after he gets a payed subscription this next week or so.

yep, definitely a good deal if it's rust free. And worth on the upper end of the estimates since it's an A/C cab...

...now back to the 67 build

Re: My 67 C10

Its not a 67 but still a great cab I think it might be a 71 but would be a great cab.
