power steering gear box ?

howdy! in the process of doing a swap on my front crossmember. I have a 67 c-10 and the front crossmember has been removed today! i have a cross member from a 73 or 74 to put in it's place. i originally had no power steering, but now with the new crossmember it has power steering with it. but my question is that it looks like the PS gear box is recessed very slightly into the frame member on the 73-74. my frame on my 67 does not have this recess. will i need a shim of some sort to get it to fit?
thanks!!

Re: power steering gear box ?

67 uses a different power steering set-up than the later years. Someone else will chime in with the details.

Re: power steering gear box ?

Check with member Captainfab.
I know he makes these adapters for the 60-66 trucks.
Also a great member/vendor to deal with.

Re: power steering gear box ?

you truck might have the 4 stamped areas in the frame for the power steering box. Dont think it's a big deal to fix
