My grille is a mess.

So I was looking at options and all I find are the 64-66 single headlight style. I have seen a few dual headlight setups used, but none have the headlight brackets. I looked at the LMC catalog and they show the brackets for singles, but not duals.

My question to the grille experts. Are the headlight brackets (buckets) the same for single and dual? If I wanted to swap my '66 grille for a 60-62 with duals, I just need a second set of buckets and adjusters? Or will I be on an endless search for the holy grail of grille parts?

<edit> Will a 60-62 even bolt up on a '66?

Re: My grille is a mess.

the upper outside hole in your support should match all 7 years chev and gmc, the others you will have to drill new holes
you will need to find a 60-61 complete grille out of a c/10,20,30 to do your swap. nothing on your 66 grille itself will interchange.

once you get the 60-61 grille, all you will have to do is drill the extra holes, and plug it in.

Re: My grille is a mess.

Are the lights a different size? Why can't I just put the buckets in it from the '66? I found a new set of headlight adjusters for it, are the buckets THAT different?

Now I want to get it just to see

Re: My grille is a mess.

LMC only shows one part number for the headlight mount, 36-4720 for Chevy/GMC 62-66. Anyone else offer this part?

Re: My grille is a mess.

dual headlight bulbs are actually smaller than singles, so yes.. it is all different

gmc buckets.. and most likely most 60-66 gm dual headlight buckets and lamps will work, but the grille headlight ring, and headlamp /grille mounting bracket are unique.

Re: My grille is a mess.

Dual headlamp systems use four 5 3/4" bulbs. Single headlamp systems use two 7" bulbs. The headlight buckets and retaining pans are unique to each style.
