74 fr. suspension/cradle in a 67, mounts work ok
#1
When removing the 67 suspension/cradle it was noted that the engine needed to be supported if so how would this best be accomplished? It was also noted that the engine mounts could be unbolted at the cradle only, the way i understood it, and the engine would be supported still bolted to the mounts that way? Is this ok? #2 What is the measurement from wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface of the 67 front end? The 74 is 64" wide #3 i was said that 74 suspension is 1 1/2" wider would this effect the handling, braking etc. at all.

1) You're seeing why me and few other guys on here keep preaching to just change the arms and leave the crossmember alone. All 4 of your 74 suspension arms will bolt to the existing 67 crossmember. It's so much easier since you don't have to monkey with supporting the engine while you swap the crossmember.
2) I don't know the measurement. It will be 1 1/2 inches narrower than the 74 suspension your swapping to. 3) While wider, no ill effects to braking or handling. The engineers at GM designed it 1 1/2 inches wider. The trucks drove like a million bucks. The engineers knew what they were doing. You'll be happy.
