Rear bumper bolts.
Looking for opinions on Grade 8 VS Grade 5. I have no idea what grade would be used on stock bumper bolts.
I bought Grade 8 cause there plenty strong, then i got to thinking, in a rear impact is it possible the tinsile strength of Grade 8 bolt could possibly fracture and shear where a grade 5 would bend? I know shear bolts are a low grade 2 or lower. My bumper will have 4 1/2 National fine grade 8's with the shank long enough that no threads will be in the frame and bumper plates.

Re: Rear bumper bolts.
My current rear bumper is well over 100 lbs made from chanel iron and diamond plate.
Guess i just want to know what grade would be used from factory but will continue with the grade 8's

Re: Rear bumper bolts.
Solid as ever, just not the best looking one around.. I'm probably gonna end up just reworking it a bit.
