73 Blazer steering question

is the steering on these really sensitive, almost to the point of feeling squirrely?
i had it aligned and put some newer tires on it 31/10.5/15's, really curious the wife is nervous about it but the alignment shop said the front end was solid, so is it normal or power steering box?

Thanks ahead of time for the responses

Re: 73 Blazer steering question

How big or small is the steering wheel? It may sound silly, but a smaller wheel somewhat quickens the action. When I first drove mine the PO had installed a little 12 or 13" steering wheel and it was nervous to drive. All I had to do was sneeze at the wheel and it wanted to dart in another direction. I swapped a leather wrapped stock 4 spoke wheel from a 90/91 Chevy truck that is a larger diameter and the nervousness calmed down.

If you are running a stock sized steering wheel, you might want to check the sector adjustment on the steering box. If it's set too tight, it will feel similar.
