whats a good rule of thumb for maximum shock travel with bags meaning if i air up completely the truck is highher than the top of the shock and all the way down the shock will be past full compression Shock relocation is inevitible i guess

Re: Shock Travel
What does the rest of your front suspension consist of?
Drop spindles? Drop Coils? Stock right now? Are you planning on just adding air bags? We need a little more info please.

Re: Shock Travel
Not necessarily. What I did on my truck was measure the compressed length of the shock, assuming the suspension is bottomed out, then measure the extended length (suspension hanging).
Now take that data and look at the charts that shock manufacturers supply on-line. Here is the link to data forI was able to find on the shelf Monroe shocks for my 4/5 static dropped '65:

Re: Shock Travel
Just for my own clarification, the difference between completely bottomed out and completely aired up is the travel length i would be looking for?

Re: Shock Travel
Dumb question are front shocks stronger than the rear meaning more heavy duty? the rear shocks have perfect travel for what I need
