WHat did you get done 2/20/11 edition

I didnt get anything done truck related this week. Friday i was in a small accident that may have totalled my ranger and that may open up a whole new can of worms but at least me and the wife are ok and thats all that matters..
How about you all?

Re: WHat did you get done 2/20/11 edition

Friday I got the new 33's with 15"x8" ralleys mounted on the 76. Then Saturday I changed out the rear axle from 3.07's to 3.73's. Now I just gotta do the front axle soon.

Also watched a pretty exciting Daytona 500 this afternoon

Re: WHat did you get done 2/20/11 edition

I primed my front driver's side fender only to realize that I had some oil on the fender and the paint didn't stick. So I Sanded it down only to find a whole bunch of deep marks so I sanded all the way to the bear metal... and reprimed it. I was incredibly frustrated. I think it's going to take a long time if this paint job is gonna look as good as I want it.

Put a CS144 alt in my Firebird, fixed my gear indicator in the truck and put on a stainless steel tailgate protector.

Yesterday I got a few things done got some more rust cut out on the cab, also picked up some braided hose, new bolts for the fuel tank brackets and leaf spring clamps, and got the rear suspension back together with new custom made ubolts, center pins, and leaf spring bushings , today I went to the autorama with my dad didn't take any pics since there were no squares

I will paint the differential when I rebuilt it

Re: WHat did you get done 2/20/11 edition

Assembled the front suspension on the S-10 chassis I have for my '50 Chevy project. Threw together a quick steel jig so a me and a buddy (with an engine hoist) could set the cab on the frame. The cab is now situated on the frame at the correct location and height. The front cab mounts are ready for welding, still need to build some rear cab mounts. Of course I played around with fenders and bed sides to get a feel for how it will look. The running boards should be roughly an inch off the ground with the air dumped.

Re: WHat did you get done 2/20/11 edition

Been sick on and off all weekend, but did manage to sort a few things in the shop, going thru all my stuff from my collection (35+ years). Got the first step of my waste motor oil processer set up (WMO as fuel for the diesel). Fired up the diesel and drove it around, now I got to get the broken crank pulley swapped. Then it snowed 2". Oh well.

New 700r4 Corvette running my heap now!

And found out from my (way more knowledgeable) buddy that my truck's got a built 350 instead of an old tired one. I also can feel it now that all the power's transferring to the rear...
need to do some more de-greasing/diagnosing/tightening up then next week its on to the suspension

Tried my hand at fiberglassing this weekend. Put new plugs and wires in the 75, just waiting for my spark plug boot protectors now. Also went to look at a 95 Impala this weekend.

just got to wire it in. also give the interior a good cleaning, im stalled lmc low beams, and clear makers behind the grill, waiting for wheels and tires to come in then try and find some money to upgrade front brakes and lower it more before the snow melts which will probably be april/may

Re: WHat did you get done 2/20/11 edition

Drove to Sanger, TX to pickup a built TH350 and 2200 stall converter from Jakeshoe (Jake's Performance, awesome customer service, BTW) for my brother's 1970 C10 w/ 400SBC. It smoked the stock TH350, and the 200-4R we swapped in had no 2nd gear, so in goes a nice performance built TH350.
