Exhaust nuts seized that connect to manifold help and info please.
I went the other day to take off my exhaust off from the passenger side and driver side so I can let it down so I can drop my oil pan. Well I went to take the nut off of the passenger side exhaust ( located if looking at the manifold on the passenger side.. Bottom left ) where the exhaust connect to the manifold. But I went to take the nut off and it was seized up and it stripped right off like butter from turning the wrench. Is there an easier way to take of the exhaust nuts thats bolted to the manifold?

I've found that penetrating oil (put on as far in advance as possible) will help out a great deal. also when you put it back together use anti seize on it for the next time around. As far as getting the nut off that is on there I can't help you out, hopefully someone will chime in.

You will need to take the manifold off and put it in a vise.
Spray it down with penetrating oil and use vise grips to twist it out. You may have to use a propane torch to add some heat to the manifold. Replace all bolts with new ones. Get the ones with the long brass nuts. John

Re: Exhaust nuts seized that connect to manifold help and info please.
I put WD-40 on them for about a 2 months and I finally got the passenger side of yesterday by just kind of working the nut and the drivers side came off easy. So WD-40 is the way to go. Thanks for your time and info.

Heat is your best freind
also give these a try - they will bite really well into the rounded off bolt head http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00952166000P

I've yet to see a nut that won't come off if you heat it cherry red with a torch.

This is part of your problem.WD-40 is short for "Water Displacement" formula 40.You need a penetrating oil.Kroil,PB Blaster, or something that really penetrates and helps loosen the bolt/nut.WD-40 is mostly a solvent.

Used brake fluid works really well too. Gotta be used not new.
