Need Help Quick......
Hey everyone. I got a bud that has a 84 swb 4x4 body and is puttin it on a 2wd frame. The frame has standard tranny and he wants it to be automatic. Okay the body is on the frame already. What all does he got to do to make it an automatic? Steering column, and what else. He doesnt want a shifter on the floor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Need Help Quick......
So is the truck a 4x4? or the body just came from one? If it's 4wd you might need to make sure that the auto trans they pick up will mate up to the transfer case correctly(I think that the transmissions total length can vary depending on the vehicle they came from, or something to that effect). If it's a 2wd it should pretty much be a bolt up deal, hook up the linkage, modulator, and the dashboard gear indicator spring cable clip to the column, maybe make sure the driveshaft is the right length. Don't take my word as gospel though.
