Aftermarket clutch linkage

Does anyone have experience with this type of linkage? I have been looking for replacement pivots for my Z-bar but have had no luck. While searching I stumbled on to this set up and it looks interesting. Any thoughts?http://cmc.speeddirect.com/itemdesc....%2D125&eq=&Tp=

Re: Aftermarket clutch linkage

Are you looking for the things the Z bar pivots on between the motor and frame? This won't replace that. It just replaces the clutch linkage and makes it adjustable.

That being said, those heims joints are only $5 or so at Ace Hardware. They're just tractor tie rod ends. I made linkage like that for my Cougar and a friends Mustang after a mechanic friend did it on my GMC for fun. It should cost you about $20 worth of heims joints, grade 8 bolts, threaded rod, and some round tubing. You can make it as adjustable as you want.

Threaded rod runs through tubing, weld on both ends. Heims joints on ends of threaded rod with lock nuts. Bolt through Heims joints into Z bar, bolt through other joint into clutch pedal, lock washers and nuts on the ends. Done.

^X2^. I did this on my chevelle. Its cheap and you have all the adjustability in the world. No more binding and sloppy linkage.

Re: Aftermarket clutch linkage

Looks like a great idea but as mentioned that seems to be way too much money!

Re: Aftermarket clutch linkage

Wow, price went up on that stuff. I think I only paid ~50 bucks for mine a couple years ago. My old linkage was worn out and had lots of slop in it....this was a great upgrade.

Re: Aftermarket clutch linkage

I was more or less wondering if converting was worth the effort, sounds like its not a bad idea. As far as the pivots are concerned, I still havent found someone that sells them yet.
