Well I used to race dirt track in Kennedale, Texas and my best friend at the track passed away on my 18th birthday this past September (which was a VERY crappy way to start what was supposed to be a good birthday). But today is his birthday and he would have turned 24 years old. His family has had a history of heart problems and he ended up having a heart attack in the middle of a race at just 23 years old. As you can imagine his family is having a hard time dealing with this, so I ask that you please pray for his family in their tough times.

Friends you make at the track are special. Back in '89 we had a family friend we raced with die at the age of 29 with cancer. At the time I was just 12 years old & I still think about him often.

fun in dirt, you're absolutely right. I don't know why but the friends I made at the track were more important to me than the friends I had known my whole life. When I was a rookie I was a lil scared to drive rough and use my bumper and Chris just outta nowhere came up to me, not even knowing who I was, and told me don't be scared, if I'm faster then I need to move them. After that I done much better week by week.
