Right forum?? transmission leak issue
Found my leak, I think its the transmission dipstick tube.
What the best way to fix it, I'm new to all of this. Just got my truck about a week ago. Thank you, if this is the wrong forum .....sorry.....

Re: Right forum?? transmission leak issue
I think there is an o-ring at the base of the tube, where it joins the transmission case.

Re: Right forum?? transmission leak issue
I think that it is fairly common. I had this issue with a ford van that I had. basically what happens is when they sit, the transmission fluid rises up into the tube which then needs to be sealed with the O-ring. when the vehicle is running, the fluid lowers and will not leak. so if it appears to be leaking while it sits then it is probably the O-ring. definately replace it.
