inline six 250 oil viscosity

What viscosity oil should I run in inline 6 250 in calif. synthetic or standard oil What do you think. I pulled valve cover had some deposit in head.

Synth oil has smaller molecules that can fit in places regular oil doesn't, so it can cause more leaks. i doubt you need the synth oil. I bough 10w30 for my 78 250, but I havent changed the oil yet...I think a straight 30 weight would be good.
