Check these two out!!!!!!
I went and looked at these two to day. I don't know much about the 60-66 trucks more of a 67-72 guy. But I think both of these are 61's. I'm really wanting the short bed, but figured if I could get them both I'll try. The black short bed is missing a couple pieces of trim, could use some glass, and the drivers door is kinda mangled, which the owner has a great factory black door that will look right at home. I was wondering how hard it would be to find this style of trim? And I have to make an offer since he's not trying to sell them and have no idea what to offer. Here's a couple pics. It was kinda crowded in there.

Re: Check these two out!!!!!!
GREAT finds! It may just be my area and the websites I look on, but that trim has been very hard for me to find and the ones I have found have been pretty pricey. Not even Brothers has the trim for these pickups. They only go to '62. But for the right price those would still be a dang good purchase!
Good luck! Miller |

Thanks! That 60 model was only the beginning of Bel-air's, Impalas, and biscayne's. He has a lot more all years(no 58's). You could find one in a lot better shape than that one. I'm working on it!

Re: Check these two out!!!!!!
The 60-61 apache body trim is hard to find, nobody reproduces it. Been looking for awhile to get some for my 61. I just about gave up because when you do a complete set you will have to refinance your house to afford it!

Re: Check these two out!!!!!!
The door trim may be repairable. Not easy but doable. IIRC Eastwood had a kit with a 'trim' hammer and dolly and how to book.

Thanks..... but the piece of trim on the drivers door is something different it's a lot wider, it's not original. And on the passenger cab corner, door, and fender it's missing. So I can't repair those. Thanks though. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Check these two out!!!!!!
If it's as nice as it looks, the black 61 hood is probably worth as much as the side trim to the right buyer. They are also very hard to find without rust or damage.

Re: Check these two out!!!!!!
Not sure. The last time I went out there and looked at what he had was over four years ago. This time when I went I was just looking at the truck and sub cause he had to leave. Didn't really pay much attention to everything else, kinda a lot to take in (it was just a blur!). From the pic it Looks like a 2 door hardtop or a 2 door post?

Re: Check these two out!!!!!!
I talked to the owner again today and I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to sale the sub and the truck doesn't have a title. (which is about $200) The owner is my boss and I know these trucks/cars aren't going anywhere he rarely sales anything. So I'm not to worried about missing out on them. I'll just keep working on the black shorty for now. He told me he'd like to see it on the road and I'd probably get it there before he would. I was going to offer my Buick up for trade on both, but I'll make a cash offer on just the truck for now.

Re: Check these two out!!!!!!
Sounds good! Other than the door, that thing looks pretty clean and solid from the pics. The short bed with that trim is not something you see at every car show; I likes!
