Where do I find the paint code on my 71? Several threads mention the glove box lid, but I don't see a reference to paint. My truck is blue and white. I've often heard the color called Hawaiian blue. The only reference to blue on the glove box is Blue vinyl custom trim.

Please post a pic of your spid if you can...that is weird that it doesn't show the code.

Are you sure there's no mention of paint color? It's usually the last item listed in the right column.

I looked at it again, and there is not a paint code. I'm going to try to post a picture of my spid. The last item has a code 1481AA. There's no description to the right of the code.

481 is the code. It breaks down to code 510 med blue and code 521 white.

Thanks guys. bruceman 1968, thanks for the paint code information. I don't know why the paint colors were not described on the SPID. From the examples I've seen in this thread, everbody else's SPID spells out the paint colors. I have a 68 stepside that I'm slowly but surely working on, and it has the paint code and color. Light blue.

no moa, I'd like to see pictures of your truck too.

It's just a fluke. The colors should of been on the SPID, but this happens. There's lots of discrepancies that show from time to time on SPIDs. Looks like you have a 0 there, as if the data entry clerk didn't have the paint code breakdown handy so they just put 0. Who knows? It should have said MED BLUE/WHITE/MED BLUE for the description.
No need to worry over the missing description cause the code listed breaks down to the right two colors. Also 481 is a 400 series code which is a complex two tone. 500 series is a simple two tone. Yours is complex so that all fits.

Well the "rough" part anyway. lol. I have a 69 wrecker and a 72 Stepside also. I'm pretty passionate about them also. Gotta love them.

Thanks to you and Chipflyer also. My SPID is ripped up pretty good, but with your SPID and the one he posted, i was able to figure out what 5 of mine were.
