Coil spring question

Ok, On the bean shaped pieces that fit inside of the rear coil springs, I have two that have a threaded lug in them and two with just a hole that take a nut. I can't seem to remember which are the lowers and which are the uppers. Does it matter one way or another? I cant see why it would other that it would be hard to start a bolt through the frame on top. Any input appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Coil spring question

On mine the lowers have the welded nut
Does this matter ?......At first I didn't think so
But one of mine came unwelded and got lost in the teardown debris
I did find a square nut the same size and thread to tack weld on.
But I noticed the it had free thread travel all the way along tha bolt whereas the original
would get tight as soon as the bolt end hit the top side of the nut,Thats when I noticed that the nut has been "pinched" (for lack of a better term) so that it won't back out.
So i'm nixing the tack weld and going to run a lock washer under it .
Hope this helps
