i was curious on what a set of the old plain jane steel wheels,with chrome beauty rings is worth? 8 lug 16"

When I tried to by a replacement steel wheel about 8 years ago the junk yards wanted $50 and I only found one. 8 lug wheels are apparently harder to find around here. CL is probably the best place to buy or sell them. New trim rings are $20-$27 each, for reproduction or OEM, and junkyards used to charge 1/2 the new cost for good salvaged parts. You can also buy/sell here as a premium member.

Here is my 83 C20 with stock wheel, hub caps, and trim rings. The wheels are dirty but they still clean up OK. PO painted one rim silver, so I painted them all silver and they don't look too bad. If you need stock hubcaps, I have seen used caps in good shape listed for sale here for not much $$ - like $40, as I recall. One good thing about this set up is that they are not likely to be stolen, as compared to expensive wheels or even rally wheels (which are now expensive). Thieves generally don't find them attractive, but I do. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I've got a set of the steel wheels just sitting in the yard. Been there since end of 05. I don't need them. Tires probably need to be replaced by now.
