Body filler location

Hi, Guys
I have a question on some body filler. I am working on a 55 Chevy
doing a patch panel on the upper cab corner and to fill it in to make the panel match the other corner I needed to fill in the lip that is above the window.
you can see where the spot welds are so I made that area smooth.
is that the way its done or should I just fill in the spot welds and leave the seam like the original cab with the seams visible wasn't sure if this is the way its done. here are some pictures as you can see I covered all the seems in the window frame.

Thanks for your help
-Larry

Re: Body filler location

If you want to fill the seam. I would remove the filler and weld seam solid and then use filler just to be on the safe side. This area expands and contracts alot with the roof sitting out in the sun.

hammerdog57,
I haven't heard of that before. Its a lot of work to take it all back out. have you heard of any one doing it without seam sealant without cracking Or is that just a precaution?

Thanks
