Removing heater box
I am trying to remove the heater box out from under my dash, but I am not really sure how to get it out. I have the A/C/Fan box removed from the fire wall, and all of the ducts/defrosters removed as well.
Thanks, Matt

Re: Removing heater box
if your trying to replace heater core its easiest to just cut an access hole to get at it

Re: Removing heater box
If you look at a Haynes or Chilton manual you can see how it comes out. As I recall, with an A/C truck you have 4 bolts (I think) and they enter from either side of the firewall. I think the inside bolts are flat head type bolts (like a rivet head) so they are hard to see and up on top of the heater box - use an inspection mirror and a flashlight or just feel around up there until you find them. These bolts are not uniformly spaced, as I recall, and the corresponding nuts on the engine side of the firewall are not easy to find either. I used a ujoint attachment and a flexible socket drive to get to the lower bolts/nuts in the engine compartment, also used the inspection mirror and flashlight trick.
