what will it do?
so the guy who is gonna build my motor is more or less building the same motor he had in a 67-69 camaro that went 6.7..... in the 8th. knowing him Im sure it was a caged lighted up a bit mostly 99%race, street car. so the question is almost the same motor what will it do in my truck. its a 406 solid roller aluminum heads 11 to 1 compression about low 500 hp. with a richmond gear 6 speed and nitto nto5 tires. I know getting off the line will suck but any one got a guess

Re: what will it do?
Hard to compare with out more info on the other car. Weight and 60' info would help.
My guess, mid-high 11's..

Re: what will it do?
It ought to be fun
Mid 11's after you figure out how to launch it...shift it and keep the tranny in it. Don't let the ET deter you though, your's sounds more of a cruiser than a drag racer.

Re: what will it do?
low 12's
that 6 spd doesn't like powershifts.. you shouldn't need 11 to 1 to get 500hp out of a 406 what heads and cam he use'n remember the heads and cam that "he" used in his "light camaro" will not work the same in a 2 ton truck |

Re: what will it do?
I know my old 01 SS camaro with just headers, tune, ported stock throttle mody, K&N filter, Fast toys Ram air and ported MAF ends went 12.44 @ 109 with 335rwhp and 3,600lbs with a 1.99 60'. You have a lot more power but a lot less aero. I don't see any reason it won't dip in the mid-high 11's..

Re: what will it do?
I really dont know that much about the camaro but the guy has been racing forever and be building 400s about as long, he had a 73 nova I think with basically stock suspension running in the 5.7 index class. but as far as my truck goes it is for sure a cruiser that I wanna take to the strip once or twice a year and be able to run a fairly good time. I would be more than happy if I could run a mid 7 in the 8th

Re: what will it do?
I disagree. For example my buddies 418ci SBC made 424rwhp through a TH400, 9" with loose stall and ran 6.9x/10.8x NA with a 1.55 60' in a 63 nova wagon weighing aprox 3,000lbs with driver (He did swap to an electric water pump and powerglide after the dyno and before the ET's mentioned which I know would move rwhp numbers up). That seems somewhat comparable to the motor/car mentioned that this motor is being based on. That motor is making more than 375rwhp to go 6.7x in a 1st gen camaro. We are talking about a car that should be running 10.4-10.5 in the quarter.
I don't know about the Richmond 6 speeds, but I know the T56's rob about 15% power. If it makes > 500 crank hp, it should still be making > 425rwhp.
