motor mounts
Im going to get my engine tomorrow and was wondering if the frame mounts that I have for the straight six will work for the v8 if I put it in the six position. Also when I hool up the clutch linkage to the side of the engine will I need to get the z bar for the v8 or will the six cyl linkage work. Thanks Brian

Way back when I was in high school I put a 350 in place of a 250 in a 69 chevy with no problems that I can remember. Motor mounts are same and clutch linkage worked fine. But... that was 15 years ago, I could be mistaken.

Not sure about the clutch, but I had to get V8 mounts to replace my 6 mounts on a 1969.

The sb will mount in on the I 6 250 stands, just sets it closer to the firewall. the rubber mounts are the same part# for the 6 & the sb. On the clutch linkage, i used the V8 z bar, & top rod.....with a screw in pivot ball in the foward hole in the block. I set the Z bar up perpendicular with the block, & redrilled the holes for the frame bracket. The lenght needed to be adjusted on the bottom rod after the mods. The setup fit with 69090 Hedman headers(will also work with Hooker comps). The HEI dist fits, but is pretty snug. I also like to drill the holes in the eng stands to 5/8", to help with installation . Good luck, crazyL
