Re: cammed 4.3 dyno numbers
i got it tuned by doc at efi alchemy. results.... well.... she put down 169 hp and 190 tq. i know right. alittle on the low side i think. so we started lookin around at it and came to the conclusion that one of my spark plug wires has got to be bad. they tuned a stock 4.3 with a cat back and it made 150. we even changed the plugs between pulls and that was 10 hp. lot left on the table. so im changing my wires, and headin back for some street tuning and more dyno tuning. we just ran out of time. they close at 8. i left at 9:45. even still the truck feels a TON better. efi alchemy is a great shop. doc is the man.

Re: cammed 4.3 dyno numbers
The numbers prolly arent far off. I wouldnt think you would gain much with just a cam change. Get some heads or have yours worked. THEN you will see some better number.

Re: cammed 4.3 dyno numbers
the cam is 215/220 dur @ 50, 510 lift. 114 lsa. the problem with the heads is they dont really make any aftermarket ones. theres the vortecs wich i have, and theres some aluminum ones from gm that go for 3 grand. oh and some brodix. but they are pretty dern expensive too. i do plan on at least having the heads worked once i rebuild it down the road

Re: cammed 4.3 dyno numbers
Yeah, you've really got the best factory 4.3L heads... some port work would help. Any other mods?

Re: cammed 4.3 dyno numbers
its also got underdrive pulleys, bigger throttle body without that stupid restrictor thing, full exhaust, cold air intake, shift kit, 373 gears, and a true trac. but basically just a cammed 4.3 with bolt ons.

Re: cammed 4.3 dyno numbers
All in all, you've added 20% over factory though - pretty good for a computer controlled motor.
