Re: paint scheme pics!

I like the typical two tone scheme for that style of body, the second one looks different, but cool. I am honestly having a hard time deciding if I like the top or the bottom one more.

Re: paint scheme pics!

I think I like the red on the bottom better. Just keep in mind that the black section will show more imperfections than red.

Good point. but i was thinking if i do black on the bottom i can get away with a couple inches of rhino linning (but the roll on stuff you buy in a can) my buddy just did it to his truck and not only does it keep the salt away in the winter but it actually looks pretty good if you take your time and do a nice clean job

Re: paint scheme pics!

I'm having some rust issues with my red crewcab, and have been contemplating doing a two tone once I've done some patch work. I just dont want to try to get a perfect match to my factory paint, and I don't want to paint the whole truck.

Re: paint scheme pics!

yeah thats never an easy thing to do.. if you go for it try adding a couple extra layers of paint and a little less clear coat.. just to give it a more dull look without having two thin of layers

Re: paint scheme pics!

BTW if you use the actual Case IH paint for the red be aware that it's not as glossy or durable as good car paint. You can get the same color in an automotive paint.

Re: paint scheme pics!

I like the red on the bottom as in the mock-up you did. It complements the body lines of the early truck. The location and orientation of the marker light looks good with that paint scheme.
