Thinking of buying a 99 chevy! Got a ????

Well after my trip down south I kind of like the ride of a newer truck and with the baby could use the room of a extended cab. I'm looking at a 99 ext. cab swb w/3rd door with 42,000 on it with leather, heated everything and full power but it has a 6 inch lift with 35's on it. I don't know about the lift and tires for pulling a trailer. It doesn't have the towing package on it, What does that consist of? It has the 5.3 in it. Anybody got an input about these years of trucks? Thanks Randy

The towing package consist of the trans cooler and an engine oil cooler. Some of the older body styles truck truck s had the 14 bolt rear in them.I had a 99 old body style with the heavy rear and it had the towing package ,but have seen alot of them with the towing package and a 10 bolt rear.I pulled a 24 foot enclose trailer with mine,it pulled ok but I know i was givung that trans a real workout.

I have a 99 GMC Z71 with the 5.3. 73000 miles now and its been a good truck. I pull a 23' camp trailer and it does very well.

I did have one major problem though, the ABS modulator went out and a new one was $800.00.

THANKS guys for the info. Its the newer style truck. I have a 22 ft car trailer and thats what I was wondering if it would pull it OK. I can put a hitch and wiring on it but not the other stuff. I'm still debating on it, it probably gets 10 mpg with the tires and lift. Randy
