How many different interior mirrors fit a 69 c/20?
I have replaced the windshield and gasket on my 69 c/20. My Dad owned it for a few years and also replaced the windshields but when he did, he changed out to a 72 type mirror that sticks to the glass. I want to install a new mirror in the factory location. The screws are still there from the original mount but the mount is long gone. I have two mirrors that should fit, one a standard and one a deluxe but as you can see the screws/holes do not line up. My truck is a custom camper trim level. I took pictures of the mounting area, and you can see the outline of the bracket cover and the three screws. The holes measure around 2 3/8ths x 3" (or so). The two brackets I have are only 2" (or so).
So I guess my question is, was there another mirror that came out in 69? Also-this truck has been in the family since 1973 and has not been molested so ...............thanks Steve

that was not a factory mirror in there originally. I'm willing to bet there is no mirror listed on the SPID. 69 was the last year it was an option. They probably screwed what ever the parts department sold them, which is what ever they woulda had on hand.

Re: How many different interior mirrors fit a 69 c/20?
Good question, Steve. Thanks for the info Longhorn Man. I couldn't figure out WTF was the deal with my mirror either. No mirror is listed on my SPID so I guess someone put this one in later. Another mystery solved !
P.S. Also another part to discard and find one more suitable for a truck. Uppdate 5/28/11: The Parts Board is a wonderful place. I got this one from 72shortbed12 for $18. Sure looks better than the gay piece that was there before. I just need to fix the white on the vinyl cover, no problemo.

So the rearview mirror was an option....? My sons doesnt have one either..fell off the windshield (glue on). I see dimples but no holes for mount. If it had one it should say so on the SPID? No hijack just more info for clearity....interesting.

I put a 66 in mine and it lined up perfect with the holes and has a vintage look, check it out on LMC.

There were some exceptions... I think it was standard on burbs maybe, but yes, the rearview mirror was optional on the pickups pre-70
