tailgate and window motors
I'm looking to order a tailgate from lmc is the shipping reasonable? Also has anyone order the one that is shaved and has to have the handle relocator kit. Also my power windows don't work, I can't find the motors anywhere any ideas? Also this is for an 84 model

Re: tailgate and window motors
I just put one in my 85 c10 yesterday. I work at a dealership so I can get em at cost but so can you by going to www.gmpartsdirect.com. You just have to pay shipping. The part number on the window motor is 19251414 and they are $23.44 each. Not bad for a ac delco factory part. I would rather get a delco then deal with a cheaper aftermarket window motor.

Re: tailgate and window motors
You can get motors from rockauto.com
From the feedback I've seen, larger items from LMC are a crapshoot. No firsthand experience so take it with a grain of salt, but I've heard to expect shipping damage (nothing major) and sometime questionable fit. From what I've read I've relegated LMC to a small parts supplier only. Hopefully someone with firsthand experience can chime in.

Re: tailgate and window motors
Thanks for the replies, I thought the window motors were gonna be hell to find. Looks like that's out the way now. This is my first vehicle to restore, so pretty clueless on where to buy parts. I just saw where lmc was advertised a lot.

Re: tailgate and window motors
Check around online for those Delco motors. I like oehq.com and oewarehouse.com - often free shipping.

Re: tailgate and window motors
There's a good tech article on replacing the motors over on 73-87chevytrucks.com.
