Radiator?
I need a good radiator to cool the 383 in my 63 GMC. Right now I'm still using the stock radiator for the 305 V6 but it's not doin' the job now that the weather is getting nicer and summer temps are creeping in. I would like something that's pretty close to the stock rad size. Any suggestions?

Re: Radiator?
+1 on that. Mine was a little over a hundred bucks and it keeps my 40 over heavily cammed high compression small block at 180 in traffic.

Re: Radiator?
I am running a Champion aluminum 4 row that cools great. Here is a link to one probably compatable for your truck. Good luck.

Re: Radiator?
it has no shroud, I wish I had one, just to increase the effectiveness.

Re: Radiator?
creep Is there a performance difference between crossflow and downflow?
only a slight difference, the cross flow circulates at a slightly slower rate because the water pump has to push the water up to the upper part of the radiator and therefore cools a little more efficiently, but you would only see a slight difference of a couple of degrees

Re: Radiator?
not to hijack creep...but im also looking to keep cool during the summer was considering electric fans but did some searches and most said stick with mechanical and shroud...im not sure how hot it is in ohio during summer but vegas gets pretty hot obviously. has anyone ran a mechanical puller on engine side and an electric pusher on the other?? would that work? what are you guys who live in the hot weather use on your mild setups? btw those radiators dont look bad, i know mine is probably an old original

Re: Radiator?
I think it is a choice there Scum1, it would work either way IMO, the mechanical fan would steal a bit of HP, where the electic fans wouldnt.

Re: Radiator?
I had a mechanical puller with a homemade shroud and an electric pusher on the stock radiator and it got really hot. I switched to an aluminum radiator and dual 13" electric pullers with shroud and it stays around 180-190 degrees now.

Re: Radiator?
Just to throw out another electric fan option...you might consider a Lincoln Mark VIII fan....18" fan that some claim moves 3500+cfm, although it does pull 30+amps too.
If you watch ebay, you can pick one up for under $100.
