Aftermarket Gauges

If you were to replace the factory gauges with aftermarket gauges, do you prefer mechanical or electric senders? Why either way?

Re: Aftermarket Gauges

I said mechanical, because it's fun bleeding the air out of the little pipe that goes to the oil pressure gauge.

EDIT: That said I wouldn't replace the factory gauges with aftermarket, I like how they look.

Electric. No boiling hot pressurized fluids in the passenger compartment for me.

Electric. They are so much easier to hook up.

Re: Aftermarket Gauges

I dont like a tangle of wires under my dash and I dont have to rely on electronics, plus I dont need my water temp and rpm to the most strict precise rpm or temp as long as i know everything works and moves in sync with the engine

Re: Aftermarket Gauges

Mechanical all the way. You can't fool the mechanical gauges, and they'll still work if you lose any of your electronics in your truck for any reason.

Re: Aftermarket Gauges

Electric. You don't want your little oil pressure tube going to the gage to bust off or leak.

That was my man reason for choosing mechanical. I do like the electrics but if I were to choose it would be stock cause I do like they way most of them look and not cluttering anything up!

Re: Aftermarket Gauges

Mechanical is always the best! Just look at how many issues modern cars have, 80% electrical troubleshooting. Keep it simple.

I've never heard of anyone's oil pressure line just busting off for no reason without being tampered with.
