TBI questions

I recently converted my 84 to TBI, using a 90 suburban for a parts doner. i bought a new 87 model fuel tank and modified the 90 sub fuel sending unit and pump to fit... now my questions are, what year models sending units will fit correctly, new pumps are cheep but id like to find used sending units...any ideas on fuel lines? parts stores here dont have the fittings needed to make these type lines, has anyone used the steel braided lines from 90 and up trucks to make lines all the way from tank to TBI? i want to install a duel tank set up later on, but i cant find any info on how that system works, does anyone have a wiring diagram for duel tanks? it seems like i could run two fuel pumps and the switch on the dash just shut off one pump and turn on the other but there would have to be a check valve in the line to keep from pumping fuel into the other tank?

Just the square body style trucks. The crew cab was still offered until 91 as a R30 and V30.
