fr. wheel bearing ?

Have a 80 2 wheel dr. which I put new rotors and bearings in and did the pre load ,back off type tighting of the bearings.Got a wheel alighment and was told they were a little loose.He said they usually thorque them to 35 lbs,is this a safe bet.I know is all in the feel but now I have the calipers on now and can.t get a proper feel.Any tips

Anyone have a better solution?
I tighten my bearings similar to your version.

I've never heard of that.(Maybe new trucks are done that way ???)
I'd back 'em off !
IMO constant pressure on the bearing would lead to premature failure.
LOL maybe he's pencilled you in for an appointment next month.

well I marked my castle nut and tighten to 35 lbs and only moved 2 castle nuts so I split the difference to 1 castle nut so should be safe,have to go for a hiway cruise tomorrow,about 400 miles,I,ll look for smoke lol
