steering slop

with over 100k on the clock my front suspension is beat and my steering box likes to make noise when making low speed turns. the steering wheel has lots of slop to it compared to a newer car. how much of a difference will replacing the steering box and rebuilding the suspension make in steering tightness?

So is there alot of play in the steering. somethings that probably are wrong is the steering box is wore out or is out of adjustment. also you could have excessive wear in your suspension and steering parts. and another thing that could cause it is loose front wheel bearings. Hope these areas to check will help you out.
