[86] Vacuum line diagram

Guys I'm trying to sort out the vacuum lines on the 86 that I'm working on to get them hooked back up. Is there a diagram of the vacuum lines set up? I know from some other forums I frequent that sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. Does anyone have a picture with the vacuum lines set up on a 86? Thanks guys!

Dave

Re: [86] Vacuum line diagram

I've been searching the archives and haven't found a good picture yet. Does anyone have a stock 86 that could take a few pics of the vac lines? Thanks!

Dave, now you can buy 100 feet of vacuum hose. Good to hear you're working out a few kinks I never got to.

No worries brother! Just working on the truck the same as you were. She runs great just looking to see what was disconnected by the previous owners...

It's actually pretty easy. Just time consuming. Were does the AC vaccum line tie into?

Right now the line is hanging free from the firewall... Or were you talking about on the diagram?

That's my problem, too. I can't figure out were the line hanging from the firewall goes?
I don't see it on the diagram.

Its not on this diagram it is part of the heat/ac system. It provides the vacuum source for the three (3) vacuum cans inside the cab that control the doors inside the heater/ac box. The three cans control the defroster duct, recirc for MAX AC and the last is the one that selects vent or feet...

I found out tonight two of the three work..

Yeah, sorry.. The line needs to be connected to a check valve that has a total of three ports. The first should be to supply manifold vacuum, second will be after the check valve to the line and the third is also after the check valve and goes to the vacuum tank located on the LH side of the firewall below the wiper motor. The tank is there to supply vacuum under high load conditions when you loose manifold vacuum. Hope this helps.
