new toy, 87 Blazer Silverado

Well I wasn't really looking to buy anything for a while till I saw this pop up on my local craigslist. Its loaded as the silverados are and has usual rust here and there but its solid. Frame still has the factory paint on it and supposedly has only 87000 miles on it. It may have rolled once but I think it would be in worse shape with that many miles. Its got good front buckets a console. I drove it home so I think the $850 i payed was a good deal.

I guess ill start tinkering with it in the next few weeks so I can drive it while my R10 is getting painted. I need to check over the motor now and see if its good. The pcv started sucking oil on the drive home and bellowed smoke out. lol. I ticked off a lot of people on the 5 mile drive home. I think it has a light tick but Ill do a comp test tomorrow and go from there. This is the only pic I took right after I washed it. Ill get more later as I work on it.

I think you did good. I gave $800 for mine and had to tow it home and it still doesnt run. Thats partly my fault because I havent touched it much in over a year....

Re: new toy, 87 Blazer Silverado

Thanks guys, I was pretty proud to drive it home for that price, even if it does have a bit of rust. Its not bad though. The interior is pretty nice, the dash had a few cracks but the seats and carpet are all good as well as the door. Only thing I need is a rear seat for it. Im pulling all the carpet today so ill take some before pics. Im kind of afraid to see whats under it. Wish me luck!
