Unknown set-up - towing Ok?
All I know is that the 350 & th350 in my 71 were rebuilt 10 years ago. It's got an aftermarket carb, intake, and a shift kit. I'm guessing the cam was changed based on the idle, but I can't prove that one way or the other, nor do I have the knowledge to say that with any certainty. The truck is definetly set up for performance, though. It's pretty freaking fast and has a good amount of get-up-and-go.
At this point, the bumper in the back is crome, but I'm thinking of putting a towing mumber on the back until I stop using it as my utility vehicle at home. I'm not looking to tow a big boat or anything major, just small trailors or whatever else comes along. Is it safe to do so without knowing the make up of the motor? |

Re: Unknown set-up - towing Ok?
since your only planning on small trailers, tow away. the rear bumper will only handle less than 2500lb trailer prolly.
I have a classII hitch and only pull light trailers, never a problem.

Yeah, if you're only looking at using a class II setup from the bumper, go for it. I pull lawnmowers, dual motorcycles (sport bikes) with my '96 Subaru Outback.. you know that's 2.5 liters of awesome...
Your truck will do just fine. Shawn |

Your truck will pull anything...for the most part upto 10,000lbs I'd say with the 350/350 combo if you've got the proper hitch on your truck. If you're just using the bumper hitch ball then you're limited to small trailers and very light weight.

Re: Unknown set-up - towing Ok?
you can keep the chrome bumper and install a reciever hitch. Hidden or not. Can tow more and imo looks better.
