Custom dash bezel

Have a 71 blazer and trying to install after market stewart warner gauges. I temporarily built a wooden bezel with cut outs behind it for the headlight and wiper bulges. Bought a Docs Custom aluminum billet bezel, but it doesn't fit just right. The mounting holes match, but the headlight and wiper holes don't and the cut outs behind wiper and headlight aren't shaped for the stock dash bulges. Any suggestions?

Re: Custom dash bezel

I just used my stock bezel after cleaning it up and painting it.

Re: Custom dash bezel

Thanks Yukon Jack. I have already invested in gauges where the speedo and tack are smaller than stock (3 3/8). I found a dash panel at customdash.com. A little pricing but still cheaper than others and if fits nicely...maybe well worth it.

Re: Custom dash bezel

ohh and if you do this the glove box door is 2 layers, you have to be careful and trim off the back panel so its only 1 layer thick. also need to weld up the button/lock hole

Re: Custom dash bezel

If you are going to use wood, you have to router out some wood to clear the dimples on the dash. Here's one of mine.
