DBW pedal question

Just wondering if it makes a difference between what pedal I use if I use a DBW throttle body. I have not picked up my donor motor, but I will have to use an F-body intake... my latest project is LS into a e46 (bmw). The bmw had a DBW system already, pedal assembly has the same wire diagram as the truck, 2 potentiometers, low voltage reference, 5v and signal... Just wondering if anyone has mix mached TB and Pedal before... not sure if I can modify the BMW pedal to make it cable..?

I highly doubt a BMW pedal would work with a GM engine.

I've even heard that its best to use the gas pedal and TAC module from the same vehicle.

Im sure it wont work, but I wonder what the differences are? they both have the same wiring signals on paper... hurm... to make things easier, I'll give up the thought and headach and just figure out how to get a regular cable gas pedal fitted and looking good in there

just get a gm pedal and tac assembly that match and use the dbw throttle body. No reason to convert to DBC just because your bimmer pedal won't work.

Because of how particular the dbw systems are, I would be surprised if the pedal was compatible. However BMW has sourced parts from the GM catalog before so I wouldn't rule 100% against it. I'd like to hook it up to a tac and tb and see how it reacts. Maybe there could be a breakthrough for the bmw swap guys.

I used a GM pedal, same year, etc. The ECM set a code that basically said, "I ain't gonna run this engine with that pedal". I had to get an exact match for the ECM / Engine.

Anyone need a pedal? I don't know what it would work on.

What if you don't know what model engine you have? I was told mine is a 2003 but I was also told it was a 5.3 it turned out to be 4.8. Is there are way to know which DBW pedal it takes? What does the TAC module box look like anyone have a pic? thanks

It doesn't matter as much what engine you have. The TAC and pedal and throttlebody need to match the PCM/tune. Google the service number on the PCMand it should give you a year, or check the VIN in the PCM to find out. Then get a marching TAC and pedal. The TAC is a little plastic and metal (or all plastic it depends on year) box about 1x4x6 inches with 2 plugs on it. Look at the second post in the" show your Ls engine bay" thread, and you can see mine mounted to the firewall about where the distributer should be.

Thanks guys. I need all the help I can get. this ls stuff is pretty foreign to me. I'm pretty sure I have one of those boxes. Maybe all I need is the pedal?
