External pumps and tbi

I am sure this has been asked and answered before, but I am drained right now. Basically what I am thinking of doing is running external fuel pumps on my 454 tbi. Not sure if this is possible or how to go about setting it up, so any ideas or pics of setups would be great.
My new fuel pump in my passenger side tank has crapped out again and won't supply enough pressure to run the engine. Of course I just filled it up today when it died!

To run external pump you'll have to remove and bypass in tank Fuel pump. You'll have to drop your tank to do that... Most of the time in tank fuel pumps fail due to low gas levels - fuel is used to keep them cool. Cheap Chinese made pumps sold in white box by LAPS's are guaranteed to fail - you get what you paid for.

Check out TBI swap thread for photos and installation tips.

Re: External pumps and tbi

I hear you on the quality of the fuel pumps being horrible.

So to remove and bypass the in tank pump, would a carb sending unit in conjunction with an external pump work?
