Hey guys new from NY with 84 K5 Blazer

Hey guys I've been reading up on here on and off for the last few years. I'm a GM guy and still got my first truck i got in highschool from the original owner. It is a 1984 K5 Blazer Silverado. It came from the factory with a 305, SM465 4 speed, NP208, and 2.73 geared 10 bolts with a Gov-Loc added at the dealership. It was ordered with the Silverado package but roll-up front windows and manual locks although it has a power tailgate window. It also has A/C and came with the small mirrors. Color is Black with gray vinyl buckets and carpet.
Since I've owned it I put in a Goodwrench 290hp Crate 350 with stock carb and intake, swapped out the distributor to a regular 1 wire HEI and added roller-tip steel rocker arms, hardened pushrods, Z28 valvesprings, early grind LT1 camshaft and Melling HV pump. At the same time I installed a Heavy Duty GM clutch and new GM flywheel. I swapped the front axle out to a Dana 44 and the rear was swapped to an Eaton Limited slip when the Gov-Loc exploded. I've had many different things done to this truck. At one time it had a 6" lift with 36" tires on 3/4 ton axles with a full-floater rear but it is back to half-ton status with my old 15" slots wrapped with 33x12.5 BF Goodrich All-Terrains. It only had 139,000 when I got it but now it has over 400K. This truck has been used from everything as a daily driver, a tow rig, a plow truck, to a beach truck. I have been on plenty of trips in the woods and I think it has just as many hours off-road as it does on the road. I cracked the frame off by the steering box and repaired it myself, rolled it over and drove it home etc... this truck doesn't owe me a dime and I don't plan on getting rid of it any time soon.

I've had a bunch of other 73-98 Chevy's along with some newer ones too but I like the earlier trucks more. Most of the ones I come across rot out pretty bad being up north AND on the water. Not much I can do about it. I do have full quarter panels, Complete GM floor with braces and tailpan with new GM body mounts and bolts, inner and outer rocker panels, drivers and passengers side front floor pans, GM fenders and doors, and a bunch of other fun stuff. It currently has a harwood fiberglass cowl induction hood on it but it fits like crap, has low spots and I just don't like it. Future plans call for a steel hood and bodywork when it gets bad enough. I'm still sourcing some panels and would like to get a set of GM complete quarters and ditch my aftermarket ones. I even got a good used GM tailgate off another truck I bought for parts and ended up driving for a while. Here are some other rides I have had. The black Chevelle is currently for sale:

The 79 K10 next to the 1984 C10 from the state auction. It used to be a DEC truck... still had the stickers. Had a really clean body. The plan was to throw it on the K10 frame and use the orange bed for the 84 GMC

Hey welcome to the best boards around from MT! Awesome story on the blazer that's so sweet that you have had it that long and have that many memories with it. I wish I still had my first ride was an '81 K5 Blazer I do miss it a ton. Nice Chevelle it looks bad ass

Thanks! The Chevelle sadly is for sale. The woman and I discussed it and between her 2011 Camaro, the 1970 SS396 Chevelle and the 1970 Chevelle Malibu all fighting for garage space something has to give and it isn't her new car... although I was told I can't sell one of the Suburbans because she wants something with creature comforts and 4x4... Women just want it all but don't want it around when they aren't using it!

Haha yeah well for $5,500 its yours and comes with the extra 12 bolt rearend with 4 series carrier and I'll throw in the disc brake spindles with all brackets, sheilds bearings etc, and a set of bucket seat cores. I found a cleaner car, a 1970 SS396 Chevelle that I'd like to put together. The Malibu is a good 20 footer though. As for getting rid of the girl, on Long Island, NY it is hard to get by with a single income. We need each other just to pay rent and electric, not to mention gas being $4 a gallon. The cheapest I can find it is $3.89 and CamII is at $8.99/gal.
