best ideas to relocate gastank????
I'm in the mental design phase of ripping out the suicide tank and putting it behing the rear end. I've seen a couple jobs with an access door put in the bedside...I'd like to put one in the bed floor if possible. anybody used a tank I could pick up at the local junk yard??

If you can find a '67-'72 Blazer or Subruban, take the gas tank, straps, sending unit, and lines out of it. It will bolt right in behind the rear end of your truck where your spare tire once went.

Blazer tank
will work from 67-88 .Take note that they wont work for a SWB coil spring set-up with out heavy modification.

yes make sure that if you try and go with a later model blazer tank that it is for sure a later model blazer not suburban, i have an 87 suburban that we are parting and the only truck that the tank will fit in is a longhorn and at that it would still be a tight fit.

So If I go out to the salvage yard and get a poly tank out of a late 80's blazer that will work to? Sounds allot better than searching around for an old rusty one.

I blieve after 86 or 87 the sending units have the fuel pump on them for FI. I know these sending units are well over 300 bucks. The one I have for an 86 is like 175. (New from GM).

gas tank
I took a tank out of a mid '70's suburban and put it between the frame rails on my '67 Chev 4x4. Had to relocate the rear most crossmember, after that things fit nicely. I actually flipped the tank 180 degrees so the filler neck is on the driver side. I then took a gas door flap from a '78 F#@! pickup and installed that on the side of the bed. I know a guy in a body shop who made a "jig" for this setup so that worked out really well. Had to do some minor work on fuel lines etc.. but everything has worked out good so far.

The 16 gallon tank from Summit is a perfect fit (sorry, don't have the part # with me). It comes with a GM 90 ohm sending unit.
